Now, Catherine a beautiful lady, Queen Charlotte seizes upon an opportunity to push Catherine and Thomas Payne, a handsome British Captain together. Disgruntled by this sly maneuver by the queen, her father can only sit idly by and watch the romance blossom between the young couple.
WAR BREAKS OUT...
With France and Britain sabers rattling once again, Thomas Payne is ordered to take his ship, the HSM York to the Pacific to duel with the France Fleet.
Caught unaware by a much larger French warship, Thomas tries to outrun the ship by sailing straight into the jaws of a wicked typhoon - hoping the French man of war does not follow. It does... The battle is fierce and quickly over.
With the York crippled from the battle, Captain Leopold, orders his ship to swing about and head for safe waters. As he looks back at the York on fire and listing over a thunderous wave, the ocean seemed to come alive and swallow the ship. Leopold never saw the York again.
The Royal Navy searches for weeks and cannot find the York. They believe it was sunk - the crew dead. When this heart-wrenching news reaches Catherine - her world sinks as well. Within her dreams, however she hears Thomas calling out to her. Believing he is still alive, she secretly hires a washouted drunken naval captain, Richard Flynn and his vagabond crew to sail her to the South Pacific to find Thomas.
